Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions Total Amine Solutions for the refining industry
Sour gas treatment units in refineries, better known as amine units, tend to accumulate thermally stable amine salts (HSAS), which cause issues like corrosion, fouling, loss of efficiency, foaming issues, operational instability, and excessive loss of amine solvent. Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions performs the reclaiming of amine solvent using a custom-built mobile electrodialysis unit. By using our technology, customers can achieve up to 90% reduction in formate content to a level of 1,500 ppm, which is well below our control guideline of 2,000 ppm. Furthermore, HSAS can be reduced to 0.5% wt, and amine losses throughout the regeneration process are minimized to less than 1% wt, based on total system volume.
