To claim the statement above is easy, to actually do this takes decades of persistence, development, overcoming failures, significant investments, and above all, dedication to your vision. Moxba went through all of these phases in the last half century, multiple times. But here we are, after 50 years of development, operating as a full services recycling company, specialized in the recycling of spent catalysts and other base metal bearing waste streams. We are, recycling with the lowest carbon footprint in the world, producing REACH certified raw materials/alloys/fertilizer for the stainless steel-, special alloys and fertilizer industries. The use of calories present in waste stream as well as a fully hydro-powered pyrometallurgical facility in Brazil, enabled us to reduce Carbon emissions significantly. We have been audited in full, according to ISO14040 standards by Ecochain and SGS, and we are extremely proud that we can officially claim that our in-house recycled metal products are saving 85% CO 2 -emissions per produced metal unit. So we are producing only 15% CO 2 compared to conventional mined metals! In this way we contribute significantly in lowering carbon emissions. Our produced metals/alloys* (where REACH applies for those sold in Europe) also help steel-mills in lowering their carbon footprint (making Green Steel). Most importantly however, Moxba contributes largely in lowering world-wide CO 2 emissions by choosing the right technologies and the right sustainable energy sources. Apart from recycling of spent refinery catalysts, we are recycling many other metal-containing waste streams. Other streams, coming from for example EV batteries, chemical catalysts, foundries, plating and manufacturing industry in the form of filter cakes, sludges, dust, plasma waste, foundry dust, stellite, powders, grindings, slags, sweeps, black mass etc. form an integral part of our raw materials. Metals, recycled by Moxba predominantly are: Ni, Mo, Co, V, W, Cu & Zn We are fully licensed ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 and are having all operational and environmental licenses in all of our three plants. Compliance is an absolute requirement for a company that wants- and is allowed to call herself a full services metal recycling company. Moxba also owns a large fleet of leak-tight, 2m3 re-useable catalyst bins, allowing our customers to use sustainable packaging. With around 35.000mt of spent materials recycled per year, moving to 65.000mt in 2024, Moxba keeps on evolving its processes and its determination to recycle metal containing materials in the most efficient, sustainable manner, into raw materials for various industries, closing the recycling loop.
