Conclusions The conventional cartridge filter and RTM are less effective and more costly when it comes to removing FeS particles to minimise hydrocracker pressure drop problems. The MagAFS filter effectively addresses major pressure drop or plugging problems in the hydrocracker with minimal investment and low operational costs while maximising throughput. He has more than 35 years of experience in catalytic distillation and extractive distillation technology development and holds 79 pat- ents and 19 technical publications. Lin holds a BS, MS, and PhD in chemical engineering from National Cheng Kung University. Fu-Ming Lee is a senior consultant at Shin Chuang Technology Co., Ltd., pioneering in developing extractive distillation (ED) technology developments and residual oil upgrading with nearly 50 years of expe- rience in refining and petrochemicals, holding 68 US patents and 44 technical publications. from National Cheng Kung University. Previous positions include professor of the Department of Applied Chemistry, National Chiayi University, Taiwan, and expert researcher at CPC Corporation, Chung- Shan Institute of Science and Technology, and Industrial Technology Research Institute, Taiwan. Lee’s expertise relates to colloid science and surface chemistry, and composite materials. Yin-Hsien Chen is the Director of Crackless Monomer Company and Cartell Chemical, experienced in cyanoacrylate adhesive manufactur- ing and achieving a joint venture between the French Arkema group and Cartell Chemical Taiwan. Chen holds an MS in management from Imperial College London and a BS in chemical and materials engineer- ing from University of Auckland. Kao-Chih Ricky Hsu is the founder of International Innotech, Inc. based near Houston, Texas, after 18 years with a major oil company. He is devoted to bringing technologies and software from North America and Europe to Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, and ASEAN countries. Kevin Gagen is currently a Filtration Specialist at Unicat Catalyst Technologies, LLC, bringing 30 years of expertise in process filtration across global applications. His career has centred on both liquid-solid separation and hot gas-solid separation, with hands-on experience in refinery, chemical, and petrochemical industries. Gagen has con- tributed to optimising filtration processes, improving operational effi- ciency, and supporting complex industrial applications worldwide.
